{April 4, 2014}   St. Patrick’s Day, 2014

This is perfect and healing for me to read, roadsideweeds is my cohort in all things important, these words are about our journey to Cape May to scatter my Mom’s ashes, only roadside says it much better than I could ever hope to. Beautiful healing perfection ❤

the night before,

an arctic breath came

to purify the land

and trim the rippled dunes

with a filigree

of snow

and whip it into fine streams,

white and ghostly channels

that meet the waves

and disappear

out on the rocks,

the sea pounds

cold and salty,

receives ashes,

and carries them

to the place

where the sea

touches heaven

for us,

eternity is the wreath of kelp

left by the tide,

snow decked and yearning

toward the sea
