{September 2, 2013}   The Versatile Blogger Award ~ Who? Me???

versatileblogger11

So check me out, I have a shiny new award and I’m doing the Happy Dance all over the place!
In truth, I was nominated for The Sunshine Award twice but my newbie status (as well as my Catholic School Middle Girl Child upbringing which keeps me stuck in UnworthyVille ) kept me from claiming them as mine.

But no longer will I remain Award-less, so thank you so very much my sweetest Ali, http://alienorajt.wordpress.com/2013/08/18/the-versatile-alienora-um-blogger/ for nominating me, and also http://alienorajt.wordpress.com/2013/08/25/friends-roman-countrymen/ lovely Jumble, the most well-spoken Border Collie I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. 😉

Now, on to the rules of this award:

1. Display the award on your page.

2. Announce your win with a post. Link back to your nominator as a ‘thank you’ for the nomination.

3. Present 15 awards to other deserving bloggers, and let them know you’ve nominated them.

4. Post 7 interesting things about yourself.

So let me start with 7 interesting things about myself (which, “interesting” is the eye of the Reader, hopefully I won’t disappoint):
1.I am a lead singer in an original rock band, I write all my own songs (lyrics/melodies/harmonies/etc), I’ve played shows in small local clubs as well as festivals with audiences in the thousands, and everything inbetween. As far as I know, one of the bands I was in (I was just a background singer in this one so it wasn’t my fault) was one of the only bands I’ve ever heard of who was banned from CBGB’s after 1 gig.
2.After Hurricane Irene destroyed my Family home I made it my mission to get the house rebuilt and habitable so my Parents could live in the only house they’ve ever owned. It took almost 2 years to make it possible, but with the help of friends and neighbors, The Home Depot Foundation, and a benefit with some local Rock Stars (Dave Snake Sabo from Skid Row in particular)as well as help from Governor Christie who I spoke with on the phone, my Parents made it home. And while it broke my heart that my Mom passed away 5 months after moving home, at least I know she was able to get back into her home.
3.I am obsessed with anything Joss Whedon; Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse, Angel, Firefly, just to name a few.
4.I’m addicted to drinking cups of hot sweet milky tea, preferably Tetley’s British Blend. I carry teabags with me at all times and have been known to order tea in a restaurant with the bag on the side so I could use my own.
5.I’m an awesome cook, I can pretty much cook anything imaginable and I love to cook, but I don’t like to eat.
6.If I could live anywhere in the world, I would choose to live in Cape May New Jersey, the most magical place on the planet.
7.I can stick up for anyone in the world except myself. Got a problem? I can fix it. Need some advice? I’m your girl. Need somebody’s ass kicked? Me again. But when it comes to doing anything for myself? Nope.

Now to the nominating of others. As sweet Ali said, 15 is a rather randomly high number so I will do my best as I’ve noticed many bloggers I follow ask that they not be nominated for awards. Well this is even harder than finding 7 interesting things about myself because you all deserve awards in my opinion, so I shall have to do the best I can, so here are 10, in no particular order:

Lovely, Joanne, and a fascinating insight. I found the bit about your parents particularly moving. So sorry to hear about your mother. Ali xx

Thank you very much. I’m grateful for this. Catnip has had a hard time as you know and I run this because of her and she has been hurt, she is healing an will soon go back to work so I will post here more until the trial begines, but this will make her smile. Thank you.

I hope so my friend, you deserve everything you wish for, Catnip is very blessed to have you in her life; devotion such as yours is very rare and beautiful ♥

I’m glad you didn’t nominate me because I’ve won this award before and while it’s nice coming up with 15 other blogs to nominate IS a huge number. I enjoyed your 7 things about yourself. Here are some follow up questions that you could answer or blog about 🙂

1. As a singer in a band, ever had any groupies?

2. What’s your favorite thing to cook?

3. Why is Cape May so magical?

4. As a fellow tea lover I wondered if you are into lose leaf tea and infusing balls? Any other traditions surrounding your love of tea? Opinions on herbal?

5. If I were to ask you for advice on how to relax but having OCD and not knowing where to start, what would your advice be?

Can you tell I love questions and answers 🙂

Thank you so much for this nomination and Congratulations! You are getting up there in your numbers and writing is being noticed!

[…] no good at accepting praise , I never have been. But I am grateful to my shiny Relaying friend Joanne for nominizing me for a VBA. Here is the pic to prove […]
